In this chapter, Jim meets Ben Gunn.
Jim suddenly sees a dark and shaggy figure leap behind a tree. The figure catches up to Jim and explains that he is Ben Gunn and he was marooned. He also says that he dreamed of eating cheese. Jim decides to tell Ben the story of the whole voyage he had. After discussing a plan to get him off the island, Ben Gunn tells his story. Then cannon fired and Jim and Gunn ran towards the port.
