In this chapter, Jim runs away in Ben Gunn’s boat
Since the mutineers didn’t return, everyone spent time treating the wounded and getting dinner. One of the men who had his gun taken and stunned by the pirates dies over night. The captain was slightly wounded from the conflict. After dinner, the doctor went to the northern side of the trees to meet Ben Gunn. However, this makes Jim envy him. Eventually Jim gets so envious, he decides to make a bold move, taking everything he might need. Then after waiting for the right opportunity, Jim makes a bolt for the thickest trees and heads off to find the white rock under which the boat is hidden. On the way there, Jim hears an unearthly scream, which he realizes is Long John Silver’s parrot, Captain Flint. When Jim finds Ben Gunn’s boat, he sees that it is very lopsided and not that well-built and it is small. However, it is extremely light and portable. Jim then carries it to the water. Through much work, he gets in.
