In this chapter, Jim walks into a trap.
After Jim shudders violently, the knife falls out and Jim gets rid of the other dead man. After seeing that the sails could be dangerous, Jim quickly cuts them. Jim then gets off and leaves the ship. Jim decides to go home to the stockade. Jim walks all through the night until he gets to the stockade and hears his friends snoring. When Jim goes into the cabin, a voice comes forth and spouts forth, “pieces of eight, pieces of eight, pieces of eight.” Jim quickly realizes that it is Silver’s parrot. All of the men spring up and block the exits.
